Neon Overdrive: Privacy Policy

Neon Overdrive ("the game") is made by Bui Dinh Dan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. It covers the iOS and Android apps and the browser version at https://neonoverdrive.buidan.com.
Summary
- No accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Your progress is saved on your device.
- The game shows no ads and contains no advertising SDK.
- The game contains no analytics SDK of its own.
- Online play sends gameplay data to our game server only while you play online.
- We do not sell your information.
Data Collection & Analytics
Stored on your device
Your callsign, trail colour, settings, level and match history are stored only on your device (in the browser version, in your browser's local storage). They are never sent to us. Deleting the game, or clearing site data in your browser, deletes them.
Online play
When you choose online play, the game connects over an encrypted connection (TLS) to our game server (wss://play.swarmzone.click/neon). The server receives:
- Your callsign, trail colour and level, shown to other players in the room.
- Your controls and in-game state (steering, boost, position), used only to run the match and discarded when you leave.
- Your IP address, which is part of any internet connection. It may appear briefly in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
There is no chat. Offline matches against computer players send nothing to our server.
Analytics
The game does not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics or any other analytics SDK.
Browser version
The browser version is served from neonoverdrive.buidan.com. It shows no ads and loads no analytics or advertising scripts. Our web host may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
Third-Party SDK Disclosures
The game includes no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the game, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Account & Data Deletion
The game has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. To delete your data:
- On your device: uninstall the app (or, in the browser, clear site data for neonoverdrive.buidan.com). This removes everything the game stored.
- Game server: the server keeps nothing after you leave a match.
Security
Information sent by the game travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
